South Florida Automobile Accident Checklist
If you’ve been involved in an automobile accident in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties, there are some important points to keep in mind. First, do not disclose information to an insurance company without consulting with your attorney. Second, do not sign any paperwork without your attorney’s review, as insurance adjusters want to close accident claims as quickly as possible, and may even offer a quick settlement to close the claim. Accepting such a settlement may limit your rights and compensation, as well as potential additional compensation should doctor exams reveal injuries that were not detected at the time of the accident. Third, document everything related to the accident, including date, time and location, as well as your personal condition after the accident, including any physical limitations or any other issues related to the accident. And finally, make sure to see a doctor even if you feel fine; injuries related to a car crash sometimes become apparent days or months after the accident.
